Qualification Information

Qualifications for City Council Member

Must be an actual and bona fide resident of the City of Mesquite and have been for a period of one year preceding the appointment.
Must be a qualified elector, i.e. at least eighteen (18) years of age, a citizen of the United States and have not been denied the right to vote by a court of law or dishonorable discharge.
Must not be a debtor to the City
Shall hold no other elective office, but may hold a commission as a notary public of a member of the armed forces reserve.
