“Distinguished Citizen” RECOGNITION AWARD
PURPOSE
Every person adds to the tapestry of a community, but in every city there are some individuals whose contributions to the development and quality of life are particularly noteworthy. The City of Mesquite will recognize one individual each year who has contributed most significantly to this community.
HOW TO NOMINATE A CANDIDATE

Individuals may be nominated by any resident.

Nominees can be a current or former resident or business person, and can be living or deceased.

The goal is to honor (be they well known or unsung) individuals who have contributed significantly to making Mesquite a better place to live.

A nominee should have shown good character throughout their life.

Complete the nomination form and be succinct as possible. If you run out of room, please use the backside of the form or supply an addendum.

The deadline to submit nominations is 12:00 noon, February 15, 2019. A committee will vote upon the nominations and the selected individual will be announced in February 26, 2019 at a City Council Meeting
